Omega’s Child of the Sixties

56..JPG

This post was to come from long time. Finally my threats to celebrate the C-Forms of constellation of the years ‘60 became a reality.

I had a long time a passion and an enthusiasm private individuals for the C-Form of Connie, the first of the of modern models the of constellation. I believe that it one moreover is underestimated of all the designs of constellation.

In this somewhat disrespectful test I offer some thoughts on the context of design of the model of C-Form and the outline of the various models available.

Omega Seamaster Professional Vancouver 2010 Olympics Watch

Omega Speedmaster Vancouver 2010 watch

There is nothing wild about this limited edition Omega watches, and frankly that is the way I like my replica Omega watches limited edition watches. Nothing too avant garde, just a good sober looking timepiece with a nice theme. replica Omega watches is pretty much obligated to release limited edition watches for the Olympics. First, they are the official timekeeper for the Olympics (since 1932). Wouldn't it look silly if they didn't celebrate that fact every two years? Second, it is pretty much the type of marketing occasion you'd be an idiot to miss out on. For the 2008 Summer Olympics they released this really cool limited edition Speedmaster based watch, for 2010 it is back to the Seamaster for inspiration. The result is something impressively on par with the visuals in my mind when I think of the winter Olympics.

In 2010, you'll find Vancouver Canada overrun with Olympians, their coaches, and fans of course. For me, it will be days of background noise on TV. While the games themselves only interest me offhandedly, this watch is pretty special. I am not sure when it will actually be released, but it is supposed to be soon. Lets take a glance at what is special about this limited edition Omega Seamaster Professional Diver 300m Vancouver 2010 watch (saying that out loud I swear I needed to inhale and exhale twice).

There will be two versions of the watch. A more reasonable 41mm wide version, and a 36.25mm version that is unlikely to be bound for American shores as we don't kindly to mini men's diver's watches. Each version will be limited to, you guessed it, 2010 pieces. Inside the watch will be the familiar Omega Caliber 2500 automatic movement. Omega is quick to point out it features their Co-Axial escapement as this is the 10th anniversary of the complication's initial release. Like all Seamasters that this watch is based on, it has 300 meters of water resistance and a helium escape valve. Plus, the movement is certified as a Chronometer, so you can be sure it is pretty accurate.

Where have I seen the colors on this watch before? Oh yea! The Canadian flag. And funny enough the games are to be held in Canada. replica Omega watches , you old sly Fox, always referring to the host country, without explicitly doing so. Aside from a nod to the Canadian flag, the colors work really well, don't you think? I mean I think I actually prefer them over the watch's standard blue tones. The red bezel is made from anodized aluminum. I don't think that translates into a lot of scratch resistance though. The best little detail on the watch is end of the seconds hand that has the Olympics logo in full color. What a charming and appropriate little detail. The other end of the seconds hand is red tipped, while the hands are all rhodium plated, and coated in blue toned SuperLumiNova.

Looking on the back of the Vancouver 2010 watch is just what you would expect; an engraving fit for the occasion. The figure you see is unique to Canada and named Ilanaak, the symbol of the games there. It has history going back to some of Canada's native people who spoke various types of Inuit language. You'll also see reference to games location in Vancouver and of course the number of your limited edition timepiece. The best part about a watch like this is that you can wear it anytime and not feel silly for having a themed watched. Overall, thumbs up replica Omega watches !

Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Co-Axial GMT Chronograph Watch

omega-seamaster-aqua-terra-co-axial-gmt-chronograph-watch

replica Omega watches ups the ante with this new Seamater Aqua Terra GMT Chronograph watch. The timepiece is available in either steel or 18k red gold, and on both versions the hands and hour markers on the dial are in 18k gold. Sounds like Rolex territory to me. Not sure if any previous Seamaster Aqua Terra watches had gold (white) in the dials of even steel watches. The vertical line pattern of the dial is meant to look like the deck of a boat (the "Teak Concept"), which explains part of the ritzy character of the watch. The dial will have highly polished features, and you can tell it is nice and deep to look into. There is of course a metal (steel or gold) bracelet available in addition to the alligator strap. The watch will be a good size at 44mm wide. Things were getting kinda crazy with the 46mm plus sizes that Omega started to dabble with a little while ago.

The watch has a rotating GMT style bezel and the iconic red arrow GMT hand. I like the length of the GMT hand on a watch like the Rolex Explorer II a bit better, as I think it is a bit stubby here on the replica Omega watches . However, on this watch dial the GMT hand is about as long as it can be given the large applied hour markers. The hands are done pretty well, but I would have liked the chronograph seconds hand to look just a bit less like the minutes hand. I can see how telling the time at a quick glance might be confusing, especially if the chronograph is running. Despite that, the chronograph subdials are very well designed and highly legible.replica Omega watches  is experimenting with placing text inside of the seconds subdial which is a good touch. That way you get the important text "replica Omega watches  Seamaster GMT" nice and bold, with the other still less emphasized and to the side. It also helps the dial be symmetrical. This was also likely done to battle the Rolex "too much text on the dial" problem that some people complain about. I don't know that replica Omega watches  and Rolex really battle it out that much in reality, but both brands often battle for the same market and have competing models. So I think it is fair to compare them with one another.

Inside the watch is Omega's automatic Co-Axial escapement caliber 3603 movement with a column wheel chronograph, and of course the GMT complication. Good thing there is a date in there as well, and I like that Omega placed the date on a black colored disc under a tapered window. The movement is also a COSC certified chronometer. Overall, these movements are typically help in high regard. Going back to the dial, it should be obvious that the markers and hands are covered in SuperLumiNova as luminant. I am not sure that I am sold on the "Teak Concept" dial pattern with the vertical lines. I'd have to sit and stare at the watch for a long time to decide how I felt about it. I am always a fan of dial texturing, but it needs to be done right. If you can't tell the dial is gray colored. Another trendy gray watch! Again, I really do like the chronograph subdials though - these are done quite well. The crown is large and the rectangular chronograph pushers look comfortable to use. The watch is robust, but not true diver. Good enough for underwater duty though with 150 meters of water resistance. The sapphire crystal is also double AR coated - while the rear of the watch has another sapphire crystal as a caseback exhibition window.

Overall the new Seamaster Aqua Terra Co-Axial GMT Chronograph watch is done well. A few areas I am not sold on such as the dial and the length of the hands. One other area is the bezel. Not that the bezel does not look nice, but I am not sure whether it fits the character of the rest of the watch. It looks very much like an instrument and less part of the "luxury boat lifestyle" that the dial is speaking to. Maybe I am the only one that sees it like that. I know that Omega is a brand that likes to focus on functionality, and that is good. I might possibly see the the Seamaster Aqua Terra GMT Chronograph a few times and change my mind, but those are my initial reactions. Not sure about price, I would guess $5,000 - $9,000 for the steel version with a 40-70% premium over that for the 18k red gold version.

NEW Omega Ladies Constellation Line

The birth of a classic in 1982, OMEGA WATCHES launched a watch which introduced a particularly radical and enduring design concept. Now it has new Constellations :

The new Constellations bear a strong family resemblance to their ancestors. The Constellation star is at the 6 o’clock position on each one and still have the famous claws which have been refined and updated. Their bracelets have the familiar horizontal links but the new “Mono Rang” bracelets, which feature butterfly clasps, have been re-engineered for maximum comfort.

The Constellation 09 watchesalso have some features which set them apart from their forebears. The striking dials, in silver, champagne, white pearled mother-of-pearl, black, and brown, are enhanced by the supernova pattern emanating from the Constellation star – a dramatic design feature which was first introduced in 2008’s Constellation 160 Years model. All of the new Constellations are water resistant to a depth of 100 metres.

The same as their predecessors, the new Constellations are sporty and elegant. The re-designed family has been created in five sizes: 24 mm, 27 mm, 31 mm, 35 mm and 38 mm. The two smaller models feature the OMEGA quartz calibre 1376; the 35 mm watches are available either with the quartz calibre 1532 or with OMEGA’s Co-Axial calibre 2500. The 31 and 38 mm versions feature OMEGA’s revolutionary in-house Co-Axial calibres 8520/8521 and 8500/8501 respectively.

It keeps on carrying on a tradition of excellence. The new Constellation lineis a dynamic, contemporary upgrade of a watch design which is an essential part of OMEGA’s heritage and is a worthy successor to its famous ancestor while proclaiming its own originality, design excellence and technical innovation.

Omega Seamaster Diver Vancouver 2010 watch

As an official time-keeper of the Olympic Games anno 1932, Omega just can’t waste such a good excuse to introduce yet another special edition watch.

As you can see on the photos of the watch , it’s dial is white like snow, the markers are blue as ice and even its anodized aluminum bezel is red as the Maple leaf on the Canadian flag. All is fine. However, a diving watch doesn’t exactly seem like the best choice to celebrate the Winter Olympic to me.To make the watch even more special, Omega also replaces the traditional sea-horse on its caseback with the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games logo featuring “Ilanaaq”, the symbol of the Games and the logo is based on the Canadian Inuit inukshuk, which was for ages used as a kind of direction sign for Arctic people but later became a symbol of friendship, cooperation and the human spirit.

Actually, there will be two versions of the Omega Seamaster Diver “Vancouver 2010″ Limited Edition timepiece: a 41mm and a 36mm mid-size version. Each model is powered by the same ETA 2892-based Co-Axial caliber 2500, each limited to a lot of just 2010 units and each bears a unique Limited Edition number in the 0000-2010 range.

Just like all other Divers in the series, this particular watch features a unidirectional rotating bezel and a mandatory helium-escape valve because, like all other Divers, this model has a water resistance rating of respectable 300m.

About the watch’s price, the Swiss company doesn’t say anything .But some $3500 will be a good guess.
